My name is Candace, I am the owner & founder of Ethereal Events. It has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager, to have my own business. Life will truly point you in the right direction. Looking back, It feels like, for a long time, I have been unintentionally paving the way for a future I had no idea would exist for me one day. By a little bit of chance, & a lot of the right decisions, I found myself in a place where I was already providing the service, I just needed to take that next step to bring my own dreams to reality.

It truly all started with a serving job. I remember the feeling driving down that hill to hand in my application at this venue, thinking something significant of that moment. My intentions were so unserious. I already had a great, full time office job that I enjoyed. I just wanted some extra cash on the side. I fell in love with the atmosphere quickly. Within 3 months, I had left my full time office job to pursue working at this venue full time. Within two years, I was promoted to their Assistant Food & Beverage Director. Within three, I was the Food & Beverage Director & found myself planning & hosting a lot of events. This is where the love started. Creating a lasting impression on someone by curating a vibe, setting the scene & working hard to make amazing things happen, on schedule, is a high that only those who love this industry will understand. Its almost better for us than for our guests. We get to see our hard work & dedication, the time and love we put into an event, being enjoyed & talked about in real time. Unreasonable Hospitality is a lifestyle.

After leaving my job at the venue, I still would find myself working events. Volunteering to decorate for my friends & families weddings and showers because I was good at it and I loved it. Then people started asking for my help with their events. After my own wedding I started doing a lot more events for family and close friends. Things like set up & tear down, helping them create a planning timeline for their own weddings, making custom signage and decor for showers & parties. It wasn’t until I was setting up a 70 square foot photo backdrop (that I built, by hand, with my husband) at a graduation party, that I had the serious thought of doing this professionally.

So here we are. I am new to this scene but I am not new to this business. I have a love for planning and making dreams work.
